The Spruce Knob Mountain Centre
The Spruce Knob Mountain Center (SKMC) is located in Pendleton County on the upper slopes of Spruce Knob Mountain, West Virginia’s highest point at 4,863 feet. For nearly 30 years, the SKMC has served as TMI’s base for outdoor education programs, applied research, conservation, demonstration, training initiatives, and a myriad of other activities designed to conserve and promote mountain environments and culture.
The Spruce Knob Mountain Center is open from mid-March through the end of November, and education programs for all ages are generally offered during that time. Throughout the year, the property is supervised by the full-time program officer who lives on site with his family. Other program staff also reside at the Center during the season.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or comments about the SKMC, or if you would like to inquire about using the facility.
